Meet the Secretariat
ALLAN HOFFMAN
Co-Secretary General
Allan is in his second year at the McGill University Faculty of Law, completing a Bachelor of Civil Law and a Juris Doctor. This will be his sixth year at JCYMUN and third year on the Secretariat, his second co-managing the conference as Secretary General. In his free time, Allan enjoys watching soccer, researching JCYMUN's past, and working on his family tree.
DAVID BIRNBAUM
Head of Committes
David is a first year medical student at McGill university. This will be his fifth year at JCYMUN and his second year as part of the secretariat. In his free time, David enjoys playing piano, listening to music, watching TV, and reading
LEORA LOHNER
Co-Secretary General
Leora is in her second year of Mechanical engineering at McGill University. She has been involved with JCYMUN for the past 7 years and is so excited to be back this year as part of the secretariat team. When she is not busy adding up vectors, she loves playing sports and hanging out with friends and family.
CALEB TELTSCHER
Head Chair
Caleb is a second-year undergraduate at McGill University, where he studies Physiology and Physics with the aim of eventually going into nuclear medicine. This will be his sixth year with JCYMUN and his fourth on the staff. In his spare time, Caleb enjoys stargazing with his telescope, composing music, geocaching, and learning as much as possible about all facets of nature and society.
LIVIA MAMANE
CRISIS Director
Livia is in her first year at UQÀM studying Law. This will be her fifth year being a part of JCYMUN, having been a delegate for two years, a Crisis staff member in 2025, and joining the Secretariat a year ago. In her free time, Livia enjoys bugging Chewy, her bird, as well as reading, writing, watching movies, listening to great music, and spending time with friends.
ANDREA OUAZANA
Director of Operations
Meet Andrea Ouazana! This is her fifth year doing JCYMUN, she spent one year as a delegate, two years as crisis staff and two years as logistics staff. This is year she will be Head of Logistics. During her free time Andrea likes to listen to music, spend time with her friends and travel. She is super excited to meet for this years conference and to meet all our new delegates.
SOFI AGINSKY
Director of Communications
Hello everyone! I am studying at McGill University in the Psychology Faculty. I had the utmost pleasure of being a committee chair last year and an even bigger honour to be part of the 2025-2026 Secretariat Team! One of my favourite hobbies is talking to and meeting new people and so I’m very excited to step into my new role as Director of Communications. I am excited to meet you all!
SHALEV FAGEN
Co-Director of JCYMUN mini
Shalev is in his second year studying at Yeshivat Lev HaTorah in Israel. This will be his fifth year at JCYMUN, and this year he is serving as Co-Secretary General of JCYMUN Mini while also chairing at the conference. In his free time, Shalev enjoys learning, watching hockey, and skiing.
SAM BENCHAYA
Director of Delegate Affairs
Sam is a Health Sciences student at Vanier College. This will be his fourth year at JCYMUN and second year on the Secretariat, serving as Director of Delegate Affairs. In his free time, Sam enjoys skiing, playing tennis, and listening to music.
EMMANUEL PETROVIC
Co-Director of JCYMUN mini
This will be Emmanuel’s first year on the JCYMUN Secretariat. In addition to working with JCYMUN, Emmanuel has coached a Model UN team. He is passionate about creating engaging and accessible conferences for Jewish students across Canada. In his free time, he is an avid sports fan, particularly of the Montreal Canadiens and tennis. He is always looking for new opportunities to facilitate and participate in debates.
SHAYANA SHIMANSKY
Director of Alumni Affairs
Shayana is a recent English Cultural Studies graduate of McGill University. This year marks her sixth year back at JCYMUN in her brand new role as director of alumni affairs, and her fifth year as a staff member. She is a devoted pet owner to pumpernickel, her dog, and Bagel, her cat; and, she spends most of her time reading, trying new restaurants with friend’s and boxing!
